In January this year, for the first time ever, I boarded the Eurostar! I was making my way to my favourite city in the world Paris. Even better that I was going there for Haute Couture week making up the graceful Sonam Kapoor Ahuja for yet another time.
We stayed at the Hotel de Berri, which was a great location choice as the shows were all close by. And with a new look for each of the 3 shows Sonam was to attend, the turnaround time for airbrush make-up, hair, styling and photos was a a squeeze!
Look 1: Ellie Saab
The make-up for this first look was a metallic smokey eye, accompanied by a heavy bottom liner, slightly winged on the inner corner and then smudged out towards the end. For skin I prepped with the Rodial Beauty Vitamin C sheet mask, which is my go to sheet mask to give intense hydration to the skin in a short space of time. Before foundation I used the Tom Ford Illuminating Primer, to ensure a perfect photo-finish look to the skin.
For foundation choice, mine and Sonam’s preference is always airbrush make-up, it gives you the coverage without the look and feel of layers of foundation. Cheeks and lips were kept neutral to allow the eyes, outfit by Ellie Saab and new jewellery line by Rhea Kapoor X Pipa Bella, to be the focus.
Look 2: Valentino
A fresh new look, possibly my favourite out of all, for the Valentino show. Aamir took the hair back into a classic, elegant bun and make-up was bronze smokey eye created using my favourite eye liner from MAC Cosmetics called Costa Riche and set with a warm bronze shadow on top.
I added some Ardell individual lashes just on the ends on the eyes to enhance a wing shape and then layered with Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real mascara. The blusher was a LA Girl contour stick, the colour payoff on this product isn’t great but I love to use it when I want just a bit of colour to the cheeks.
A quick changeover and about a 3 minute shoot with The House of Pixels and that was look 2 done!
Look 3: Jean Paul Gaultier
The quickest turn around time out of all the looks, so I transformed the Valentino bronze eyes into a dramatic smokey look by adding intense black pigment on the outer edges and smudging it into a wing. The full breakdown of products can be seen on this Instagram post.
Final Day Look
So I had to leave Paris the next morning but not before doing a quick natural make-up look for Sonam.
My favourite eyeshadows for a natural ‘no make-up’ look are matte peach and brown tones, a few favourites that I used on this look were Texture by MAC Cosmetics and Hoola Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics, yes it’s a bronzer, but it honestly works great as an eyeshadow too!
Paired with flawless #AirbrushingByGanga and Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow talk lipstick, this looks makes a great everyday look that suits so many skin tones. Full product list can be found on this Instagram post.
